Big Trucks Are Coming to Dickson Mounds for Tot Time on June 3

LEWISTOWN, Ill. -- The Illinois State Museum will hold the monthly Tot Time event at the ISM Dickson Mounds Museum in Lewistown Thursday, June 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with the theme “BIG TRUCKS!” 

What: Tot Time: BIG TRUCKS! 

When: Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. 

Where: Dickson Mounds Museum, 10956 N. Dickson Mounds Rd, Lewistown, IL 61542 

Toddlers (1-2 years of age),  preschoolers (3-5 years of age), and their caretakers may enjoy viewing various BIG trucks, including a fire truck, dump truck, and the Barko, used in forestry management. Additionally, participants will receive an opportunity to meet the individuals who operate these vehicles. Adults and their young learners are welcome to take a self-guided tour through the Museum’s grounds to visit each truck.

Young learners may receive giveaway items, such as Big Truck toys, stickers, and other trinkets, to take home. Giveaway items are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Older siblings are welcome to participate in the morning activities.

Tot Time takes place at Dickson Mounds each month. Adults and their young learners will have fun exploring, discovering, and learning on the first Thursday of the month. A different topic is featured each month. Registration is not required. All participants must observe health and safety protocols.
