Upcoming Events

Dickson Mounds Museum offers a wide range of public programs throughout the year -- on archaeology, Indian cultures of the Americas, natural history, and rural life and culture. Programs include workshops, demonstrations, performances, conferences, and festivals -- many of which are held outdoors. Most events are free to the public.

In the 1930s, a young boy discovered a crumbling stone vault with a metal burial casket inside. Eighty years later, a trunk full of that young woman's clothing was donated to the Illinois State Museum.
