Domestic animals, and especially pets, have played an important role in human history. Come learn about pets in the past and how you and your pets can contribute to the health of the planet in the present and future. Enjoy engaging games and demonstrations, create origami art, and make a pet rock to take home.

September 23 is Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Live. Visit www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/museum-day-live-2017 to print a voucher for two free adult admission tickets to the State Museum. Child and senior admission is always free.
