The most obvious evidence of the prehistoric past of the area is manifest by earthworks built for a variety of purposes. We will visit several earthworks located in the Lewistown-Havana area and discuss what we know about them.
Join us for an afternoon of kite flying. Visitors of all ages may enjoy learning how to fly pole kites, wind resistance exploration, trying out “wings”, fun with bubbles, and making their own kite craft to take home.
The day’s event begins with keynote speaker Ella Maxwell, horticulturist from Hoerr Nursery, certified arborist, and Tazewell County Master Gardener, highlighting the lessons she has learned from 30 years of gardening.
