Poet Sam Love from Gary Indiana is conducting several readings and workshops all summer long throughout Lockport culminating in two events at the Illinois State Museum. The Lockport poetry Project is an inviatation for you to contribute to his writing prompts to creat one long format poem.
Sam Love is receiving funding from an "Our Town" Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The grant was awarded to our campus partners, The Gaylord Building, A Site of The National Trust for Historic Preservation.

As the Illinois State Museum in Lockport has one of the last functioning fax machines on the planet, we put a call for artists to fax us an artwork. The only requirement being that it arrives via our fax machine. Faxes were received from around the globe creating a kalaidascope of imagery, expression, style and idea.
