Brown Bag Program presented by Nathan Grider, IL Department of Natural Resources
The alligator gar is a “living fossil” and an important predator in freshwater ecosystems within their native range. After nearly 50 years of extirpation from our rivers, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources has begun reintroducing this fish in coordination with other states. This presentation reviews the history, myths, science, and objectives of the reintroduction project in Illinois.
Bring your lunch and join us for a different speaker and topic on the third Wednesday of each month. Brown Bag Lectures are held at the ISM Research & Collections Center at 1011 E. Ash St. in Springfield. For additional information, please contact email@example.com or (217) 558-6696.
