About the Artist:
Royce Martin is a St. Louis-based pianist and composer who blends ragtime tradition with contemporary sounds. Self-taught on piano at 14, he became the in-house pianist at the Scott Joplin House State Historic Site by 18.
His 2023 debut album, Memories on Morgan Street: Scott Joplin Reimagined, reimagines Joplin’s music through Martin’s signature “Swagtime” style, combining ragtime stride, bebop, and poetic rap. A Berklee College of Music film-scoring graduate, Martin has composed scores for HBO and Hulu.
