ISM Teacher’s Lounge Book Chat: Unearthing Joy

The ISM Teacher’s Lounge returns this summer for an engaging virtual discussion of Unearthing Joy: A Guide to Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning by Gholdy Muhammad. Participants will explore this inspiring text and learn how to incorporate and strengthen the Five Pursuits outlined by Muhammad: Identity, Skills, Intellect, Criticality, and, especially, Joy! Participants will discuss the presence of Joy in the classroom, how to humanize pedagogy, and how to build Muhammad’s Five Pursuits into curriculum.
