Step into Land of Stories, the Illinois State Museum’s America 250 exhibition, and join us for an after-hours storytelling series celebrating the stories, experiences, and traditions that connect us.

This month, we are excited to welcome our dear friends from the Beardstown Project, Mi Casa es Tu Casa, for an evening of stories about finding home in Illinois. Hear our guests share what brought them to Illinois, their first impressions of a new place, the surprises and lessons they encountered along the way, and the moments when Illinois began to feel like home.

Together, we will explore what makes a place feel like home, how our understanding of home can change throughout our lives, and why home is about more than just a place. It is about people, experiences, and memories that make us feel that we belong.

Come listen, share, and reflect on what home means to you.

This after-hours event is free to attend, and all are welcome.
