Parties include the use of a private party room, admission for guests, exhibit access, and more! Museum Society Members receive discounts on all party packages.

 

Steps to Booking:


We recommend that you begin booking your party at least 60 days in advance. Fees and restrictions to party packages may apply to last minute bookings within two weeks of the party date. 

Step 1: Submit a Party Book Request by contacting Gabby Antonacci at Gabriella.r.antonacci@illinois.gov. Please allow up to 3 business days for date availablity confirmation. 

Step 2: After your date is approved, Gabby will follow up to discuss party details. You will recieve the rental policy document and a link to our payment portal. 

Step 3:  Submit payment at least 2 weeks prior to your party date.

Party Packages

Party Room Rental

(most basic package)

Starting rates: 

  • $100  (Non-Members)
  • $75  (Members) 
  • $50 (Deposit)

Includes: 

  • 90 minutes of party time
  • 30 minute set up period 
  • Private party room
  • 30 person party (hosts included)

Add-ons:

  • Extra 30 minutes of party time ($25)
  • Exhibit Bingo ($10)
  • Last minute booking ($50, free for members)

Themed Party

(basic package plus)

Starting rates: 

  • $250  (Non-Members)

  • $200  (Members)
  • $50 (Deposit)

Includes: 

  • Goody bags, exhibit bingo, and a craft station for 15 children
  • A Museum Society Party Pal
  • Party materials and decorations set up for you!

Add-ons:

  • Extra 30 minutes of party time ($25)

  • Up to 10 extra children ($5 each)

Custom Party

(basic package plus) 

Starting rates: 

  • $350  (Non-Members)

  • $300  (Members) 
  • $50 (Deposit)

Includes: 

  • You choose a theme, we curate the party from scratch

  • Goody bags, exhibit bingo, and a guided craft station for 15 children

  • A Museum Society Party Pal

  • Party materials and decorations set up for you!

Add-ons:

  • Up to 10 extra children ($5 each)

Themed Parties

Geo Glow 


Black light party where kids discover how fluorite, the Illinois state mineral, GLOWS!

Included Decorations:

Fluorite display, string black lights, birthday banner, balloons, colorful neon table cloths and tableware.

Party Favors:

Black light keychain, glow sticks, glow rocks, and more!

Craft Station:

Kids can learn why fluorite glows and paint their own stone with glow paint to take home.

Neon Paint Party


Celebrate with this Gen X inspired black light bash where kids can light up the party with neon paint!

Included Decorations:

Celebrate with this Gen X inspired black light bash where kids can light up the party with neon paint!

Party Favors:

Black light keychain, glow sticks, rainbow scratch bookmarks, and more!

Craft Station:

Kids roll golf balls over neon paint to create glow in the dark splatter art.

Party Shark


Lets go party with the whole shark family and the megalodons at the Museum!

Included Decorations:

Cartoon shark wall decorations, birthday banner, balloons, ocean themed table cloths and tableware.

Party Favors:

Coloring pages, crayon pack, stickers, and more!

Craft Station:

Kids can party with the sharks by making their own shark party fin hat. Pick up a bingo card for an exhibit hunt.

Primary Paint Party


Make a splat during your celebration with this red, yellow, and blue paint party!

Included Decorations:

Colorful wall decorations, birthday banner, balloons, primary colored table cloths and tableware.

Party Favors:

Watercolor paint set, crayon pack, bubble wand, and more!

Craft Station:

Kids see what happens when you mix red, yellow and blue with a spinning splatter painting. Pick up a bingo card for an exhibit search.
