Join us for a hike-n-talk program along The Nature Conservancy’s Ridge Trail, located within the Emiquon Preserve. Learn about the geological formation and archaeological significance of the Central Illinois River Valley, and the contemporary importance of the Emiquon Preserve. The program will be presented by the Illinois State Museum’s Curator of Anthropology Dr. Brooke Morgan, Dickson Mounds Museum’s Curator of Anthropology Logan Pappenfort and staff from the Nature Conservancy and Therkildsen Field Station.

Meet at the Therkildsen Field Station at Emiquon, 11316 N. Prairie Road, Lewistown, to begin the hike. Participants must dress appropriately for the outdoors, provide their own drinks and snacks, and be able to hike comfortably with an elevation gain and across uneven terrain.
