Teaching With Objects

ISM-Springfield
: There’s a lot of talk about getting “hands-on” in the classroom, but what does that actually look like? What happens when learners are given the chance to put their “hands-on” real history and science? Objects have a distinct power to ask questions of us. Learn from Curator of Science Education Alex Ruger how to bridge object-based learning into your classroom. Together, we’ll make scientific objects accessible to educators and their students. Through real specimens and artifacts, we’ll put inquiry and experience first to help students answer their questions… and maybe find new ones! This is a free teacher professional development opportunity. Teachers will receive 1 CPDU credit for attending.
