Dickson Mounds Seeks Kid Collectors for Jan. 12 Program

LEWISTOWN, IL – Dickson Mounds Museum is seeking kids ages 8-16 who have personal collections they would like to showcase at the Museum on Saturday, January 12from 1:00-3:00 p.m.  Collections may include rocks, minerals, arrowheads, fossils, coins, stamps and much more.

Collectors need to register by Tuesday, January 8, 2019 to participate in the Kids Collectors Day event. For more information or to register, contact Christa Christensen at 309-547-3721 or christa.christensen@illinois.gov

Participation is free.  The Museum will provide a display area with tables, signage and guidance on creating an exhibit of their items.  Kids may enjoy displaying and presenting information about their collections to Museum visitors.

The Illinois State Museum-Dickson Mounds is located between Lewistown and Havana off of Illinois Routes 78 and 97. The museum is open free to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
